FOURTH ANNUAL HAYWARD INLINE MARATHON and HALF MARATHON
Come to our all-day skate party in the in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin! See why the Hayward Inline Races are quickly becoming THE event of the summer race season.

For 2009, Participants choose their race distance (all new this year) - 10-Mile, 20-Mile or the new 30-Mile Challenge distance - and race on smooth blacktop roads through pine-studded forests and pristine wilderness lakes.

Skaters start and end their race at the famous Fred Scheer's Lumberjack Village. More than 100 "Prem" prizes awarded to skaters of all abilities during the popular Hill and Flat Prem Races, mini-races within the race. Clydesdale and Athena race categories in 30-Mile Challenge.

Every participant receives race socks, a box lunch, with beer or other beverage, plus a free Lumberjack Show.

* There will be no race day registration, just packet pickup

7:30 AM Race Start
  • 7:30am - Pro/adv, master, and veteran male (30 Mile)
  • 7:31am - Pro/adv, master, and veteran female (Marathon)
  • 7:32am - Open & Half- Marathon
*County Road B will close at 7am for warm-up
 
11:00 AMLunch - Sub's from Sublime Subs
1:00 PM Awards Ceremony
2:00 PM Lumberjack Show provided by Fred Scheers Lumberjack shows

All festivities will be free of charge for all participants.

Please invite family and friends to join in the fun, there is a $5 fee for the Sublime Subs for non-participants.

  • 30 mile - Top three male and female finishers in each age category:
    • 30 & under
    • Masters 31-40
    • Veterans 41-50
    • Grand Veteran 51+
  • Marathon - Top three male and females in each age category:
    • 30 & under
    • Masters 31-40
    • Veterans 41-50
    • Grand Veteran 51+
    • Clydesdale
    • Athena
  • Half-Marathon - Top three male and female finishers
All finishing participants will receive finisher’s socks and a finisher’s award. Awards are different for each category.

LODGING
There are many hotels in the Hayward area however if you prefer to camp, rustic camping is available for no fee. If you are interested please contact Heather at haywardinlinemarathon@gmail.com.

POST RACE FESTIVITIES
You and your family are invited to stay and enjoy a post race Lunch provided by Sublime Subs (extra fee for non participants), awards ceremony, and Lumberjack Show thanks to Fred Sheer’s Lumberjack Show. The Lunch begins at 11am, awards at 1pm, and the Lumberjack Show at 2pm.

RACE SAFETY
Helmets and wrist guards/gloves are mandatory to participate in the event. (Participants must be 13 years or older) Knee and elbow pads are recommended. Inline skates only. NO roller skis, ski poles, baby strollers, baby joggers, planes, trains, automobiles, skateboards, bikes, bandits, pets, or little red wagons.
